LESSON 7: SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORK MARKETING
You've heard a lot about Social Media lately. Networking online through social media will help build your clientele base. This goes back to the old theory of building your contacts list. The more people in your contacts list, the more potential clients you have. They may not need your services, but they will eventually run into someone who does.
IT IS WHO YOU KNOW
Most people would rather do business with someone they know. The more people you know the better your chances are of gaining business referrals.
WHO IS IN YOUR LIST?
You never know who is in your contact list. Some of these people may know very few people and a few will know lots of people. Some of these potential clients will gladly tell everyone about your great products and some are very quiet. It only takes a few "fans" to spread the word.
DON'T SELL!
The purpose of setting up profiles on social networking sites is to get to know people. Getting to know a few people well and establishing a strong friendship will go farther that collecting a large number of vaugue acquaintances. Never give an unsolicited sales pitch to a friend! They will come to you if they have questions.
FACEBOOK
Facebook has become the #1 Social Networking site. Make sure that you keep it professional and yet friendly. This will become part of your online resume, but should only contain personal events so that people can get to know the real you. A short reference to your company website is all that should be included from your business life. Never send spam or chain email to friends.
LINKEDIN
There are many professional online networking sites, LinkedIn is the most popular. KinkedIn is a great way to brag about your professional talents. You can see how many business contacts each person has and who they know. This is a great place to find other business owners who like to network and send business referrals.
FOLLOW TAGS
Be sure to put your follow tags to your profile accounts on your website. Most of the sites has icons that you can download with HTML tags.
