CHOOSE YOUR COLORS
The colors of your website should be supportive of your text & featured products. The colors should not be so strong that they distract from your message. Consider using a white background in the main content area with black or very dark text to make it easy to read. Bright colors are distracting, but are perfect in key areas where you want to draw attention. Use a lot of contrast between light and dark. Web colors are different than print colors. They will need to be adjusted to look good on a variety of monitors and operating systems. Most designers use web safe colors.
Here is a website that shows many modern color themes for advertisers. You can see the color combinations that some of the larger well known companies are using.
You will need to choose colors for backgrounds, logos, header bar, link button, text links, rollover links and graphics.
